By Matt Geller, Sirote attorney
Sirote & Permutt employees had a fantastic time at the 8th Annual Chili Cook-Off, benefitting the Exceptional Foundation. The March 3 event drew thousands of attendees and raised more than $200,000 to benefit the non-profit organization.
While I can’t divulge the secret ingredients in our chili, I can tell you that of the 80 teams vying for “Best Chili,” Sirote’s spicy mix landed in the top 20. After last year’s second place finish, we’re very proud to have again made it to the final judges’ table!
But what we’re MORE proud of is our support for the Exceptional Foundation, an organization that provides social and recreational activities for mentally and physically challenged individuals in the Birmingham, Alabama area.
“The success of The Exceptional Foundation’s 8th Annual Chili Cook-Off is possible only because of the overwhelming support from our sponsors such as Sirote & Permutt,” said Tricia Kirk, Exceptional Foundation executive director. “One of more than 60 sponsors, Sirote has supported the event every year, and many attorneys are involved with The Exceptional Foundation and the event itself. We value Sirote and all of the event sponsors who have made this day possible.”
The Exceptional Foundation Chili Cook-Off is the main fundraising event for the organization, and Sirote was thrilled to be part of such a successful event.
I’d like to thank the entire Sirote Chili Cook-Off team for working hard for a great (and fun!) cause: Kelly Roney (our fantastic Chili Chef), Greg Rhodes, Andy Saag, Meaghan Ryan, Mike Murphy, Nathan Vinson, Mike Thomas, Colleen McCullough, Holly Wallace and Barry Ragsdale.
