Spicy, Meaty and Just a Touch of Heat: The Exceptional Foundation Chili Cook-off

By Matt Geller, Sirote & Permutt attorney

It’s the time of year again when many of us trade our every day hats for chef’s hats to see who can make the best pot of chili in town! Mark your calendar for the 9th annual Exceptional Foundation Chili Cook-off on March 2!

Every year, teams from around Birmingham compete in this great event that supports the Exceptional Foundation. Tents are set up, chili is made and a great time is had by all. And this year should be no exception!

Last year, Sirote & Permutt’s team landed in the top 20 for our special secret-ingredient chili. Will we do it again this year? Come out, have a taste and decide for yourself! We encourage everyone to participate in this worthwhile event.

The Exceptional Foundation provides social and recreational activities to mentally challenged individuals in the Greater Birmingham area. Proceeds from the Chili Cook-Off and other fundraising efforts provide approximately 75 percent of the funds needed to ensure that The Exceptional Foundation participants are able to gather daily for social activities, take field trips and compete in sports.

The event is moving to a new location this year, and will be held at Colonial Brookwood Village on March 2. Get more information and learn how to register your team!
